The PRS Awards Ceremony 2022

The PRS Awards Ceremony 2022

In the middle of June, we spent two wonderful days dedicated to our annual PRS awards ceremony.

On the 14th of June, celebrated in the magnificent MEA House in Newcastle, and headed over to The Word in the heart of South Shields on the 17th of June. It was a great time to celebrate our excellent achievements and a great deal of fun was had by all attendees.

We were joined by the amazing North East Triple Paralympic Champion, Stephen Miller, who is an impressive role model to young adults of all abilities. His fantastic achievements in Club Throw and Javelin helps our visitors and the people who use our service to see that with the right support you can achieve anything you set your mind to!

The individuals who attend our Day Opportunities were recognised for their own inspiring achievements. Many students had recently completed bespoke PRS courses such as ‘Celebrating Our Region’ and ‘Talent At Our Fingertips’. The certificates they received celebrates their growth and learning in subjects such as cookery, art and history.

It wasn’t just our Day Opportunities students who we were celebrating, we were also celebrating our talented staff members, many of which were awarded with Level 3 Awards in Education and Training. This qualification covers inclusive teaching and learning approaches and a variety of assessment styles to suit individuals of all abilities.

By earning these awards, our committed staff members can now deliver tailored courses in a variety of subjects and continue to provide a friendly and approachable service for the people who use PRS Inclusion & Training Services. Each staff member is an asset to our growing team and we’re committed to nurturing their development.

Our Partners in Employment were also awarded with certificates of recognition, highlighting the spectacular support and commitment shown to learners through their Transition to Employment journey. Members of our Partners in Employment scheme who attended the awards ceremony included Newcastle United Foundation and VONNE, the Voluntary Organisations’ Network North East.

Finally our CEO, Pamela Seers, was presented with an NOCN accreditation. This means that our PRS centre can now provide NOCN training and courses! These are available to all those who attend our Day Opportunities, as well as those who do not attend and simply wish to gain extra skills to help them get a foothold into the workplace.

We would like to thank everyone who attended our awards, and offer congratulations to everyone who achieved their goals in June.
